Current fundraising activity

We are very pleased to share that our College 3 students all completed their 10 mile sponsored walk on 25th May to help raise funds for their upcoming Biography Retreat. Additionally Daniel successfully completed his first ever half marathon on 21st May in a brilliant time of 2 hours, 14 minutes and 27 seconds in order to raise funds for the retreat and the college. Full details of both events can be found on the campaigns page of our Virgin Money Giving page, where the current total stands at a truly amazing £4,687.50 (including Gift Aid) on 31st May.

The Mount Camphill Community Co-Housing Initiative

“For many years, The Mount has received requests to provide further opportunities for vulnerable adults to live and work in our very special supportive and inclusive community context. This project will offer such people the choice of a lifestyle which combines personalised care with equality and full participation in shared living and meaningful work. The Trustees are excited by this initiative, fully endorse it and warmly ask for your support.”      Steve Briault, Chair of Trustees, The Mount Camphill Community

Our new initiative strives to provide meaningful work, a fulfilling cultural and social life, and opportunities for self-development. This will be achieved through living in a co-housing household made up of tenants with, and without, additional needs, engaging in social enterprise activities and work, whilst always being supported to the extent that each individual's abilities require. The co-housing community residents will interact with the social and cultural life of the college, ensuring a chance for vibrant activity, and situations to demonstrate adult attitudes and life opportunities to the students forming their future direction

We are seeking pioneering supporters to help raise the necessary funds to secure the purchase and extension of a suitable house within Wadhurst village, recruit and train co-workers and support staff in our way of working, as well as setting up meaningful social enterprise and external work opportunities. Donations can be made through our Virgin Money Giving page or by post as noted above.
