Assistant Coordinator for Education

This is an exciting opportunity to join The Mount Camphill Community as the Assistant Coordinator for Education, working as a senior member of the Education Faculty.  Your role is to work collaboratively with the Coordinator for Education with exceptional leadership to ensure The Mount’s success and continual improvement. You will maintain the highest standards of learning and achievement in accordance with statutory and Ofsted requirements.

Job description

Principal Objectives

  • Support the Coordinator for Education and the Education Faculty with all aspects of the educational provision.
  • Work with Tutors to ensure outstanding teaching that leads to high standards of achievement and progress for all students at The Mount.
  • Maintain a high profile presence and to be accessible to and supportive of students, staff, parents, relevant agencies and the wider community.
  • Keep informed of developments and good practice in the sector and disseminate information appropriately in collaboration with the Coordinator for Education.

Working Groups/Responsibilities

  • Membership of the Education Management Group and Admissions Group.
  • Support the Coordinator for Education in the line management of the Education Faculty.
  • Support the recruitment of staff for the Education Faculty.
  • Support new members of the Education Faculty upon joining The Mount with their induction.
  • Support the Coordinator for Education with the provision of mentoring, appraisal and supervision processes, including probations for the Education Faculty.
  • Be an excellent role model, exemplifying a high standard of teaching and promoting high expectations for all members of the Education Faculty.

Student Admissions / Reviews / Reports

  • Chair review meetings across college (settling in, EHCP, transition) in liaison with the Coordinator for Education.
  • Complete the final Admissions Needs Assessments for Local Authorities.
  • Compile Tutor, House and Therapy Reports for meetings as above.

OLTA

  • Work with the Quality Assurance Lead to observe learning, teaching and assessment practices within sessions and follow up actions/development points as appropriate.
  • Work with the Quality Assurance Lead to raise standards through staff performance management.

Quality Assurance

  • Support the Coordinator for Education with the Self-Assessment Report and Quality Improvement Plan.

Operational

  • Ensure the smooth operation of The Mount’s College on a day-to-day basis, with tasks including:
  • Attendance and support/lead of Education Faculty meetings;
  • Supporting the Coordinator for Education in producing/rearranging timetables for both students and staff;
  • Cover sessions where needed and work face to face with students as required; and
  • Participate in Community events eg Festival Days, Inset Days and Parent Days.
  • Liaise with Tutors to gather information for termly email to be sent to parents setting out plans for the term ahead including current timetable;
  • Send termly emails to parents and receive/action feedback in liaison with Education Coordinator;
  • Cover for workshops/sessions as and when required;
  • Provide contact for many parent/Local Authority queries throughout the term.

The post to commence June 2025

39  weeks per year / 5 days per week-/ 37.5 hours

Assistant Coordinator for Care and Support

We are seeking an experienced social care professional, with a level 5 diploma in health and social care management, or working towards this. You will have the experience and skills to support the management of the quality of the provision in regard to legislation and requirements including the Health and Social Care Act, Mental Capacity Act and CQC regulations. You will have the experience and skills to be the safeguarding lead for the organisation. You think creatively about social care and are keen to work in a collaborative way with a diverse range of colleagues.

Whilst a background in residential education care would be preferable, this role would be ideal for a person working at a team leader or deputy manager level in a health and social care setting.

The post is 5 days, Monday to Friday, 9.00am to 5.00pm term time only (39 weeks)

Principal Objectives

  • Support the management of the quality of care and support in college and the cohousing community as well as social enterprise day placements
  • Oversee Quality Assurance systems covering care and support for all activities
  • Safeguarding lead for children and adults at risk (college, cohousing, Social enterprise)

Main Responsibilities

  • Implement and improve Quality Assurance processes for care and support
  • Monitor the annual rolling quality assurance plan including the completion of audits for documentation, finances and medication.
  • Oversee safeguarding processes and liaison with external bodies in collaboration with the Safeguarding Group
  • Manage MCA/DoLS processes

The post is 5 days, Monday to Friday, 9.00am to 5.00pm term time only (39 weeks)

Qualifications and training

  • Good level of education, including English
  • Completed or working towards Level 5 diploma in Social Care and Management
  • Knowledge and experience
  • Experience of working with young people/adults in social care
  • Experience of working with people with learning disabilities
  • Excellent understanding of the principles of high quality person centred care and support and non-discriminatory care practice
  • Knowledge and experience of working with CQC regulation
  • Knowledge and experience of working with safeguarding legislation
  • Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and how to recognise abuse

We are looking for a Supporting Lives Facilitator /Care Worker

This role is not suitable for a skilled worker visa

In collaboration with the house coordinator and others you will support our households and the wellbeing of the Cohousers. This will include personal care, homemaking and leisure activities. Patterns of working with Cohousers will be up to 45 hours per week spread over 5 days either in the morning or evening including one weekend day. Our current hourly rate is £12.67

Our main requirement is your motivation and interest to become part of our vibrant community. We strongly value warm authentic support of individuals with learning difficulties. Your willingness to participate in the trainings offered is essential.
