Parent Testimonials
Here are some recent comments received from parents of our current students:
“The Mount Camphill Community has transformed our daughter's and our lives. Her coworkers' care, understanding, and dedication have helped her develop confidence, independence, and happiness. It's a nurturing and supportive environment where she feels truly seen, understood, and valued. We are extremely grateful to be part of this wonderful community.”
“The Mount has been a game changer for our son. He continues to amaze us with his progress and has become a confident young man. Witnessing his transformation from surviving in life to now thriving has been incredible.”
“My son enjoys living at The Mount during term times, being part of the Community seems to be very important to him and he is always keen to get back there after the half-term and summer holidays!”
“The Mount Camphill has changed the lives of all our family. Our daughter, a College 2 student, has flourished and grown in so many ways. She is learning how to live amongst a community rather than the confines of a small family and all this entails; awareness and consideration towards others, finding her place in a wider setting, life skills, friendship groups, being one of a team as well as learning practical skills. She is experiencing so many things at The Mount that would not be possible in other settings and watching her bloom has been wonderful. As parents, I feel we have been given a priceless gift. Knowing she is safe and happy with the caring, professional and competent team of The Mount staff, has been a huge weight off our shoulders.”
“Our son has simply thrived beyond all our expectations. His journey at The Mount in college, therapy and residentially has been second to none thanks to the ethos, care and holistic approach adopted throughout the community. We couldn’t have found a better setting because there isn’t one. The Mount is a very special place.”
“The Mount Camphill Community Specialist College is quite simply a Home from Home. A warm tightly-knit community of students, experienced staff and co-workers where kindness, affection, friendship and respect are at the heart of everything they do. Independence, education and understanding of the world is gained through the practice and love of crafts and community activities including weaving, candle-dipping, baking, cooking, gardening, animal husbandry, singing, music and dance in the beautiful monastic (and modern) buildings and soul-restoring gardens which give the Camphill Community its distinct charm, beauty and grace. The test of any good school or college, my husband and I always said to one another when looking for a placement for our young adult, is: would I like to live and study here myself. The answer is a resounding YES.”
“This is our son’s fourth year as a day student at the Mount and he has absolutely thrived during this time. I never thought he would be able to cook a meal independently from scratch but here he is doing a BTEC. He has loved being part of this special community and so have we.”
“Our son started at the Mount in September and, as parents, we cannot believe how well he has settled and how much he is achieving in such a short time. We feel that our son has found his place and we are looking forward to seeing how much he will achieve. The Mount is a truly remarkable college.”
“We came to our second family day at the Mount. It was a great opportunity to see what our son and his peers have been achieving during their time at college. The smile on my son's face during this event says it all. It was such an uplifting day not only for the students but for us parents too.”
